Magnetic phase transition, aggregate formation, and electrical conductivity in FeC13-doped polyacetylene
Both Fe3 + and Fe2 + ions occur in FeCl3-doped polyacetylene. At low dopant levels ( < 0.01 mole frac tion) both Fe2 + and Fe3 + io'ns are paramagnetic down to 4.2 K. At dopant levels > 0.01 mole fraction, there is evidence from Mossbauer spectroscopy that Fe2+ ions associate into aggregates which are magneti cally ordered below 25 K. Aggregate formation appears to correlate with high electri...
متن کاملThe Temperature Dependence of Conductivity Anisotropy in Intermediately Doped Polyacetylene
The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity and conductivity anisotropy of FeCI3 doped stretch-oriented polyacetylene film at different doping levels were measured by using Montgomery technique. The increase of conductivity anisotropy upon doping is related to the aligned fibrillar structure and the interfibrillar contact effect. Weak temperature dependence, the slight decrease at low...
متن کاملCharacterization of Polyacetylene and Polyacetylene Doped with Palladium
Samples of Naarmann polyacetylene, denoted as N-(CH)x, (unstretched) and polyacetylene doped with Pd have been investigated, being characterized by: (i) conductivity using the four-point method, (ii) bulk concentration of Pd using the atomic absorption method, (iii) bulk density using helium pycnometry, (iv) surface composition by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and (v) electron transport para...
متن کاملThe Electrical Conductivity of Transition Metals
1-In a recent paper* certain properties of the transition metals Ni, Pd, and Pt and of their alloys with Cu, Ag, and Au have been discussed from the point of view of the electron theory of metals based on quantum mechanics. In particular, a qualitative explanation was given of the relatively high electrical resistance of the transition metals. It was shown from an examination of the experimenta...
متن کاملElectrical conductivity imaging by magnetic resonance electrical impedance tomography (MREIT).
Magnetic resonance electrical impedance tomography (MREIT) is a recently developed imaging technique that combines MRI and electrical impedance tomography (EIT). In MREIT, cross-sectional electrical conductivity images are reconstructed from the internal magnetic field density data produced inside an electrically conducting subject when an electrical current is injected into the subject. In thi...
